Maddie Yuille (b. 1988) is a visual artist based in London. Since graduating with an MA in Fine Art from City and Guilds of London Art School (2019), she has been shortlisted for the Contemporary British Painting Prize (2019), the Ashurst Emerging Artist Award (2020), and the Ingram Prize (2021), and has undertaken a number of residencies, including the Incubating Residency at Pictorum Gallery (2022-2023), the San Moritz Art Academy Residency (2022), and the Elephant Digital Residency (2021).
Yuille’s work is concerned with our relationships to the more-than-human world and to each other. She strives to use paint to depict a sense of embodiment - the sensorial experience of being, in all it's messy, co-mingling glory. To achieve this she combines a variety of media (including oil paint and crayons, acrylic paint and pastels) to create works that vary in texture and marks, embodying the sense of a vital world constantly unfurling.
